Join Us! 6th Annual Lowell Joint Education Foundation 5K Turkey Trot and Wellness Fair

The Lowell Joint Education Foundation is pleased to announce the 6th Annual 5K Turkey Trot and Wellness Fair will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School, located at 16430 Woodbrier Drive, Whittier, CA 90604. The Turkey Trot and Wellness Fair is a great way to get a healthy start prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. Registration begins at 6:30 AM, and the race time is at 8:00 AM.

Participants will receive free refreshments, goodie bag, commemorative T-shirt (quantities are limited, so register early), wellness fair, and there will be a special awards ceremony. Overall winning male and female finisher will receive a coupon for a free pair of running shoes courtesy of Snails Pace. Medals will be awarded to the top three in each division, male and female. The age divisions are: 5-10, 10-15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The finish line results are provided by Pacific Coast Race Timing.

Early registration ends Wednesday, October 24, 2012. The early registration fee is: $30 Adults (19 years and older), $10 Lowell Joint School District students, $20 non-district students, and $15 Runners Club per runner (10 or more runners). You may register online at www.ljefonline.org until Wednesday, October 31, 2012. You may also register the day of the race for a registration fee of $35 adults and $20 all students.

The Lowell Joint Education Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2005 in response to the lack of state funding for academic enrichment and innovative programs in the Lowell Joint School District. The Foundation provides financial support to special programs such as Academic Excellence Day, technology grants for the schools, and the after-school sports program at Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School. The Lowell Joint School District serves families in the communities of La Habra, La Habra Heights, and Whittier, California.

Donors may contribute funds or products/services to help support the activities of the Lowell Joint Education Foundation. Donations are welcomed and may be submitted online via the Foundation's web site at www.ljefonline.org.
