Lowell Joint School District Academic Excellence Day

The Lowell Joint Education Foundation is pleased to announce that Academic Excellence Day for students in the Lowell Joint School District was held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School. Approximately 400 students representing El Portal Elementary, Jordan Elementary, Macy Elementary, Meadow Green Elementary, Olita Elementary, and Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate participated in the event this year. Sponsored by the Lowell Joint Education Foundation, with financial support from the La Habra Rotary Club, Academic Excellence Day is a day of academic competitions for students in fifth through eighth grade. The top three individuals or team of students in each subject received gold, silver, or bronze medals.

Those students winning medals this year are as follows:

Academic Bowl (Grades 7 and 8) Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School

  • 1st Place Team: Shwe Kim, Tanya Jomaa, Colin McKensie, William Leonard

The Lowell Joint Education Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2005 serving the students in the Lowell Joint School District. The Foundation provides financial support for special programs such as Academic Excellence Day, the Fine Arts Extravaganza, technology grants for the schools, and the after-school sports program at Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School. The Lowell Joint School District serves families in the communities of La Habra, La Habra Heights, and Whittier, California.

Donors may contribute funds or products/services to help support the activities of the Lowell Joint Education Foundation. Donations are welcomed and may be submitted via the Foundation's website at www.ljefonline.org.
